KOMD 2023 Annual Benefit Recap

The Annual KOMD Benefit, hosted by the Curran Family, took place on Saturday, September 9th at the Captain Lawrence Brewery raising $411,000 dollars and they have now raised over 2 million since inception! Over 500 people were in attendance as well as over 40 sponsors and vendors who supplied amazing food and memories.

In Jess Curran’s speech, she started off by saying, “Hope is the tree of life and it grows when others help. It is said that we can live a month without food, a week without water, but not a day without hope! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing to support KOMD and choosing to be difference makers”.

“Together with all of you and these brilliant researchers, we can change the course of this disease and we just can’t slow down for one second because TIME IS MUSCLE for a Duchenne kid. TIME IS MUSCLE.”

Jess ended with “So, if I can leave you with one thing to remember, to carry with you in your life, have hope. Let it be hope that helps you get through the toughest times, hope that better things are ahead, hope that you are stronger than you think, and hope that you are exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment in your life…. Together we reach for advancements in treatment and research that will lead to a cure. The future of Conner and all those with Duchenne depend on all of us not giving up hope and seeing this through. Every step we take, every dollar we raise- brings us closer to our goal and we can’t stop and won’t stop because time is muscle and patients are waiting! They need us now.”

Thank you to the Curran Family for another fabulous event and all you do to help Cure Rare Disease and all boys with Duchenne MD!
